Welcome from the President

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Q Law NJ, Inc. ("Q Law"). ​Despite New Jersey having some of the strongest protections for LGBTQ+ people in the country, enforcement of legal rights comes with unique challenges and our State continues to need leaders that make our communities safer and more free. This is all the more true in the face of openly hostile political forces and growing tendencies towards authoritarianism and fascism.

When I agreed to serve as President, I took on this role believing that we are stronger united. Fundamentally, our power to resist anti-LGBTQ+ policies, norms, and rhetoric is found through our ties to community that gives us the strength and courage to fight for and live our lives. Organized, we have the potential to build the world we believe in. Starting a new bar association is a monumental task, but the harder work comes in maintaining the collective power we build.

 

As President, I commit to putting Q Law in the best possible position so that our power may be exercised in new and transformative ways. If you believe in our Mission and Membership Core Principles as a legal professional, then I hope you consider joining as a member and adding to our collective strength. If you are already member, I hope you find ways to get involved and continue building Q Law's capacity for future generations. There is no better time than the present.
